Leading Employers: The largest employers in Sydney’s public accounting sector include:

  • Pitcher Partners  (70, no change)
  • William Buck (49, increase of 7%)
  • BDO in Australia (43, increase of 10%)
  • RSM in Australia (43, increase of 19%)

Each of these firms has seen notable growth since last year.

Sydney’s Public Accounting Workforce Snapshot

Total Employment: Greater Sydney is home to over 7,236 public accountants.
Demand: The demand for accountants remains very high.
Tenure: Accountants in Sydney typically have a median tenure of 1.7 years, suggesting a moderately high turnover and potential opportunities for fresh talent.
Job Changes: In the past year, 2562 public accountants in Sydney have changed roles.

  • Greater Sydney Area: 7,236 accountants (3% decrease)
  • Greater Melbourne Area: 6,106 accountants (4% decrease)
